Led by President David Granger, the government is ensuring that more women are elevated to positions of leadership.

This effort to empower women in Guyana is already seeing success. Women have been appointed to 40% of cabinet positions, as well as to state boards and constitutional commissions in significant numbers.

President Granger is committed to continually increasing the number of women in government and beyond. “I took trouble since 2015 to appoint a significant number of junior ministers who are younger and who are female. You’ll see more young people and young women taking positions of leadership in the government,” the President has said.

This is the first step. There is more to do and we need your support to continue the progress. Together, let’s keep Guyana moving forward.
