A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer shot and killed his wife and their two sons just days after a gushing post on his Facebook page about their recent trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office on Friday said 39-year-old Officer Ezequiel Almodovar gunned down his 38-year-old wife, Marielis Soto, and there two children, 16-year-old Ezequiel Almodovar and 12-year-old Gabriel Almodovar, before turning the weapon on himself.

The only survivor in the deadly shooting was the family Shih Tzu, Fluffy, WFTV reported.

The bodies were found during a wellness check on Thursday around 3 p.m., Sheriff John Mina said during a news conference. Concerned relatives said they hadn’t seen the family in over a week and Almodovar’s fellow agents reported that he had failed to show up for work.

“Folks were concerned about the safety and well-being of the occupants inside that house,” Mina told reporters.

Deputies forced entry into the family’s residence in Orlando, where they discovered all four of them dead from gunshot wounds.

Just days ahead of the attack, Almodovar posted on what appears to be his Facebook page about a recent family trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, People reported.

“Family time…we needed this..no school, no work, no adult bull**** just family time and enjoying life through eyes of kids..love you baby,” he wrote.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer, who was recently transferred to a new post in Jacksonville, also seemingly wrote a passionate tribute to his wife on Valentine’s Day, according to WESH2.
