Thieves cart off with three barrels containing household appliances from US

An Amelia’s Ward Linden resident is counting her losses are thieves broke into her house and stole three barrels containing household appliances from the United States of America (USA).

The police reported that the incident occurred between 17:30hrs on August 29 and 10:28hrs on August 31.


Police noted that the 35-year-old woman works in Georgetown but visits Linden every weekend to check on her house. On August 27, she collected the said barrels and took them to her mother’s place of residence but relocated them to her house on August 29 and later left for Georgetown.

The victim’s parents usually visit her yard every other day to do gardening and on August 31, while at work in Georgetown, she received a phone call from her mother who indicated to her that the house was broken into.

Upon arrival, the victim discovered the barrels and other items missing from her house. Entry was gained via a kitchen window; the thieves exited through the back door.

Investigations are ongoing.
