Orwin Boston 29 years old and owner of Ease Meh Stress Bar in Dartmouth on the Essequibo Coast was shot by CANU and Police Officers at his home in the presence of his wife and children. According to reports, the officers did not present a warrant for his arrest.
The incident took place 3am this morning. It is also reported by the dead man’s brother Greg Boston stated that CANU and police officers went to Orwin’s mother’s house, kick down her door asking for him. When the officers were told Orwin is not living there, they subsequently went to his home and kick down his door. Mr. Boston and his family were awakened from their slumber seeing the ranks in full swat gear with guns drawn. It is reported Orwin was hollering for help from closeby relatives and neighbors. Confused by what was happening in his home, he ran from the officers and hid under his bed. It was there he was shot under his left arm in the presence of his wife and 2 children.
It is also reported that Orwin was taken by the ranks in his underwear to the hospital where he subsequently died.
According to Shurwayne Holder Coalition Member of Parliament who is saddened by the murder of Orwin Boston said they are fears from citizens on the coast that the Regional Police Force the government operationalized by a bill passed by parliament recently may be in full effect on the island and is calling on citizens to be on the lookout for those officers who are making arrest without a warrant. The MP is asking citizens to contact their lawyers or Parliamentary rep.
As we speak Dartmouth is in protest over the murder of Orwin Boston.
