Three persons, including a 35-year-old resident of Fort Ordnance Housing Scheme, East Canje Berbice, are in custody following the discovery of 102lbs of cannabis in their possession on Monday night.


The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) revealed that its ranks intercepted the car behind the Botanical Gardens in Georgetown.

The anti-drug agency revealed that Jairam Lallman was transporting the suspected drugs from a location in Berbice to a given location in Georgetown when ranks stopped the car he was driving.


The car was searched and parcels of suspected bulk marijuana were found in the trunk.

The illegal drugs weighed 46.59 kilograms.
