These heartwarming stories make us all feel proud, don't you agree?

Acid attack is the most brutal thing that can happen to anyone, because the intent here is not to kill anyone but make someone suffer for rest of their lives. Those who go through it, suffer and would it be wrong to say that the survivors are the most courageous people? They do need constant love and support.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation is an initiative to support acid attack survivors. After all, they are to be constantly reminded of the fact that beauty isn’t skin deep.

The founder of Meer Foundation and King of hearts, Shah Rukh Khan recently took to Twitter to share a beautiful story about happy endings.

One of the acid attack survivour associated with his foundation tied the knot recently. Shah Rukh Khan shared the pictures and wished her “love, light and happiness”.

To Anupama, who tied the knot to Jagdeep Singh, he wrote, “Congratulations and my love to Anupama as she starts on this new journey of life. May it be filled with love light and laughter. U r the man Jagdeep…and may u both have double the reasons to be happy with this union.”

For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan under an initiative called ToGETher Transformed, wants to get corrective surgeries done for 50 acid attack victims. He organised a session with the survivors earlier this year where he met and interacted with the women.

He told the women to take charge of their lives and lead a happy life ahead. He also asked them to pick jobs that they want to do, and earn themselves a livelihood. He isn’t called the king of hearts for no reason, right?

In a video earlier, talking about the beauty and social acceptance, Shah Rukh Khan had said, “Beauty is not skin deep, is often said but not really felt. We all need well, but we look away, we shy away from looking at things that are unpleasant, yet we want social acceptance for ourselves, we discriminate from inside, yet we fight for empowerment, yes we all need well, but we do look away,” he said in a video.

Meer Foundation was founded in 2013. For those who don’t know, he gave the foundation his father’s name and is on a mission to uplift the lives of the women who went through this brutal attack. He has several surgeons on board for his mission too.
